About
The story
The Kilberry road is one of the great slow drives in Scotland, a narrow ribbon along the Knapdale coast with Jura and Islay laid out across the water. Halfway round it stands a low white inn with a red roof, log fires in the bar and five rooms upstairs. The cooking is the reason people make the journey: Argyll shellfish, local game and honest, unshowy plates that have kept a Michelin Bib Gourmand here for more than fifteen years. It remains small, family-run and seasonal, closing through the depths of winter. Book early, drive slowly, and stay the night if you can.
