Strathisla Distillery

Set beside a burn in Keith, Strathisla is among the oldest continuously operating distilleries in the Highlands, and looks every inch the part — twin pagoda roofs, weathered stone and a cobbled courtyard that seem lifted from a whisky label made real. There is a quiet grandeur to the place, a sense of centuries of craft carried on with care. The tours are generous and the setting alone repays the visit, whether or not a dram is your reason for coming. Few distilleries wear their history so beautifully.
