About
The story
Rogart is a request stop on the Far North Line, a single platform in the middle of Sutherland where the train will only halt if you ask it to. Alongside it, in a quiet siding, sit two converted first-class carriages, a showman's wagon and the old waiting room, all turned into somewhere to sleep. The compartments keep their original fittings; the kitchen, sitting room and showers are shared, and the whole place has the pleasant absurdity of camping coaches from the 1950s brought back to life. Arrive by train, wake to nothing but hills and the occasional passing service, and cycle out into some of the emptiest country in Britain. Family-run for decades and cherished by those who find it.
