About

The story

Follow the single-track road up the Trotternish peninsula until the villages thin to crofts and a low, larch-clad building with a grass roof appears against the hillside. Built by artists Indi and Rebecca Waterstone and once followed by Grand Designs, Single Track is half contemporary gallery, half espresso bar, and entirely unlike anything else on the island. The coffee is taken seriously, the cakes and scones are homemade, and the windows frame a view over the Minch towards the Outer Hebrides that is worth the drive on its own. Opening days are few and seasonal, which only adds to the sense of having found something.

Our word

Why Hunters selected it
