Rhug Estate Organic Farm Shop

On the old coaching road through the Dee Valley, the Rhug Estate has been farmed organically by Lord Newborough since the late 1990s, and the farm shop that began as a butcher's counter in 2003 now holds a Royal Warrant and a shelf of Great Taste awards. The draw is provenance you can see: the estate's own organic beef, lamb and famous bison graze the fields around the shop, and the butchery counter is the heart of the operation. Seventy Welsh and British cheeses, a bistro with serious kitchen ambition, and a takeaway hatch beloved of travellers on the A5 complete one of Wales's great food stops.
