About
The story
Tucked away west of Inverness, Reelig Glen is the sort of woodland the crowds forget. A gentle looping trail follows a burn beneath towering Douglas firs — among the tallest trees in Britain — their trunks rising like cathedral columns into a green hush. Light filters softly through the canopy, ferns crowd the path, and the air carries that resinous, damp-earth calm found only in old forest. It is a walk for slowing down: a short, accessible circuit that feels genuinely wild and gloriously overlooked.
