About
The story
From the bridge at Whiting Bay a path climbs through oak and hazel alongside the Glenashdale Burn, gaining height quietly until the trees part at a viewing platform and the falls appear: a double drop of some forty-five metres, known in Gaelic as Eas a' Chrannaig. A second platform gives a different angle entirely. Loop back by way of the Giants' Graves, two chambered cairns set on a shelf above the bay, where the outlook over Whiting Bay and Holy Isle repays every step of the climb. Three miles in total, an hour and a half at a wandering pace, and one of the most rewarding short walks on Arran.
