Arlington Row
A honey-stone terrace of weavers' cottages beside a water meadow — quite simply the most photographed row in the Cotswolds.

About
The story
Tucked along Awkward Hill in Bibury, Arlington Row is the Cotswolds distilled to a single, perfect frame: a gently curving terrace of steep-gabled cottages in weathered honey stone, once home to wool weavers, now leaning contentedly toward the Rack Isle water meadow. Come early, before the coaches, when mist still hangs over the River Coln and the stone glows amber in low light. Walk the little footbridge, listen to the water, and understand why artists and photographers have returned here for generations. It is small, it is famous, and it entirely deserves to be.
Our word
Why Hunters selected it
